The Heartland House in Grasonville, MD is hiring reliable, caring individuals for day and night shift. Qualified individuals have a loving and caring personality, a passion for helping people who need assistance with their daily living activities, a playful and cheerful attitude, and a desire to work as a team to provide a safe, loving environment for a group of individuals with a range of health conditions from minor physical ailments through various stages of dementia.
DAY SHIFT (7:00am - 7:00pm) duties include working as a team of three staff members to assist residents with getting out of bed, bathing, dressing, hair and appearance, sharing duties of breakfast, lunch and dinner, daily activities including games and entertainment, sharing laundry and cleaning duties, and various other tasks needed by the residents to make their day more enjoyable.
NIGHT SHIFT (7:00pm - 7:00am) duties include working as a team of two AWAKE staff members assisting residents at bedtime, being available to residents as needed throughout the night, sharing laundry and cleaning duties, checking residents every two hours, and assisting early-rising residents with their morning activities including bathing, dressing, hair and appearance.
All staff members must have reliable transportation to and from work, and be reliable to arrive at work on time for each scheduled shift. FULL-TIME positions rotate four 12-hour shifts one week and three 12-hour shifts the next including every-other weekend. PART-TIME positions depend upon availability for 6-hour, 8-hour, and/or 12-hour shifts as needed.
No experience is necessary. A Background Check is required. Drug and Alcohol testing may be performed.
